The Strange Case of Lady Sannox

Lady Sannox and Douglas Stone are notorious members of circles of brilliant and rich people. Douglas is one of the best surgeons of England, thanks to his darning for realize a surgery that anybody darning to do. Douglas, Also, have an eccentric and expensive pleasure for wines, foods, closet, etc. When Douglas knowing Lady Sannox, for first time, he be in love for she. But he isn´t be the only love of Lady Sannox. She is a woman that likes the men, and she is very lovely with every men. Although she is married with Lord Sannox.

The husband of Lady Sannox, Lord Sannox is an amateur of gardening and full of home-like habits. Also he like go to theatre. He isn´t know the situation with Lady Sannox, his wife, and her lovers. In the clubs that Lord Sannox is present his friends do terrible jokes about the infidelity of his wife. But, When Douglas Stone is the favorite of Lady Sannox, he isn´t care that everybody knows about their relationship, include Lord Sannox, although if that prejudice his career. He visited every day to Lady Sannox. But one night, that Douglas is very proud of himself for do a difficult surgery that anybody can do before, ignored his reunion with his love.

When Douglas Stone was ready for visited Lady Sannox, the butler calls Douglas to annunciate a patient that needs him. Douglas doesn´t like see him because is to late for his date with Lady Sannox. The butler gives a card of Hamil Ail Smyrna. Finally Douglas decides see he but just to know what the problem is. Hamil Ail Smyrna is form Asia Minor and his wife is very sick. He give a Douglas a one hundred pounds, for see his wife, Douglas accept that if this just take one hour.

Hamil Ail Smyrna is a curiosity dealer of old articles and dangerous arms like a dagger that some ones have poisoned. His wife fell down in a faint in the room in which he keeps his wares, so she cut her lower lip with this poisoned dagger. The symptoms that have the wife of Hamil Ali Smyrna are deep sleep and can dead in thirty hours. The only solution for this problem is taking the lip off. Douglas accepts very emotion for this operation. The operation have take fewer that one hour because is at nine of night.

Before that Douglas Stone and Hamil Ail Smyrna get out, Douglas to propose drink a cup of wine, But Hamil isn´t accept because he is Mussulman and his religion isn´t drink alcohol. When their go to Euston Road, the place that their be stay in England.  Douglas takes out a bottle of chloroform. And Hamil said that his wife can take that because their religion isn´t accept this type of substance.  But don´t use that is not a problem because the wife of Hamil is deep sleeps. Douglas is impatience, he take out his ligatures, his needles and his safety-pins.

They are in the house of the Hamil Ail Smyrna. In one of the rooms, they have a lot of things very strange, useless and dirties, this room isn´t have many light for that reason is difficult to Douglas evaluate de place.  In the other the woman is sleeping in her bed, she has a Turkish dress and a veil “Yashmak” that cover his face. An old woman is standing at her side with a candle.

When Douglas examine le lip of the woman he see that she isn´t have an infection that need be operate, but the Turkish man is disagree with that, and insist with do the operation. Douglas fears for a lawsuit that can do the Turkish man for page his work and he isn´t do that. For this reason Douglas begin the operation and he see that the woman isn´t sleeping, se have very open her eyes.

When Douglas short the lip of the woman is a loud shriek of pain and Douglas recognize his lover. He looks the Turkish man and discovers that the beard and wig are on the table and see Lord Sannox. Lord Sannox isn´t stop of laugh for revenge his pride, his wife can´t trick he again, because here face is disfigured. Nobody can love that terrible face. Douglas can´t believe that and he state paralyzed. Then Lord Sannox takes out an arm for kill Dougla, but he is laugh stronger and Lord Sannox flees in fear.

9 Chapters

Lord Sannox go out to the house and said to the old woman that care of Lady Sannox. He said to the driver to get home the doctor Douglas and he is going to Venetia like nothing happen.

This story begging with the strange visit of an important man that go to the place that Sherlock Holmes and Watson are solving a case in Baker Street. Thorneycroft Huxtable, the important man have tired appearance and elegant suit, he are falls in the carpet. Holmes and Watson try to help him giving a pillow and brandy. He wake up and said that he can be ok if they give milk with cookies, and also said that he looking Holmes to persuading him to solve the case that Holmes is researching.
